    NEXT STEP is pleased to announce the Summer School 2022, 10-14 July in Greece

    The Training Activity refers to a 5-day long International Summer School which is going to take place 10-14 July 2022 in Greece. This will be an intensive study programme that will train teachers, artists, educators to engage school students to NEXT STEP activities but most important will be used as an exchange of ideas setting. The participants will be able to bring their experiences and also learn about the Operation of the STEAM IDEAS’ Square approaches. The participants will act as co-creators and will collaborate in person after their experience in the previous school year. They will be able to work with the organisers, to simulate the STEAM IDEAS’ Square, in order to update the material and finalise the approach and provide recommendations for the sustainability of the NEXT STEP Approach.

  • STEAM Approach in Science Education Conference

    The International Conference on “STEAM Approach in Science Education” is jointly organised by the NEXT STEP and GSO4SCHOOL projects. Join us for 3 days, from the 6th to the 8th of December. The Conference is going to be an on-line event. The 2nd STEAM Approach in Science Education Conference will build on the results of the 2020 conference. Will be an international meeting point for educators, scientists, artists, researchers and policy-makers during which cutting-edge perspectives on creativity in school education will be presented and further developed. The conference will be an exciting and enjoyable occasion for educators to gain valuable experience with specific Professional Development approaches to science-and-art (STEAM) methodologies through hands-on experiences, lectures and intensive, interactive workshops.   • NEXT STEP Kick off Meeting

    The NEXT STEP (Introducing the NEXT STEP for Innovation and Creativity in Schools through artistic, scientific and cultural initiatives) consortium held its Kick-Off Meeting, virtually, on 30 April 2021. Representatives from the 5 partner institutions coming from 4 European countries (Norway, Greece, Ireland and Portugal) gathered to discuss the overall approach of the NEXT STEP project and how its work will unfold in the next years. Detailed planning and scheduling of the project activities was initiated and also the correlation between science and arts practices in STEAM education was discussed while taking into account the different national educational frameworks. Through the discussions and presentation partners got a common understanding about the main issues of the project and agreed to proceed with the already foreseen work that will lead to the main project’s results. The NEXT STEP project will run for two years (April 2021 – March 2023) and is funded by the Erasmus+ KA2 programme of the EU. The project partners are:

    • NUCLEO INTERACTIVO DE ASTRONOMIA ASSOCIACAO (NUCLIO) – Portugal
